The stock backlighting of the Honda S2000 dash controls is an orange glow resulting from incandescent bulbs and filters. Using the stock incandescent bulbs system, it is impossible to change the backlight color of the stock controls to a non-orange base color using filters alone.

Qube Engineering has developed a modification process that allows you to change the backlight color of the dash controls to blue, white, red, yellow, or green, or indigo.

You may also specify an increased brightness level of your dash controls.

What dash controls can be modified?

The backlight color can be modified for all interior controls. These include...

Audio Control Switch and Mute button Indicator Light
Engine Start Button
Cruise Control Switch and Indicator Light
Rear Window Defrost Switch and Indicator Light
Climate Control Switch and Indicator Lights
Roof Switch
Hazard Light Switch

The exception to this is that the upper dial icons of the Climate Control must be red and the lower dial of the Climate Control Module must be a blue to red gradient. The brightness of these dials is modified to match the brightness you choose and the color quality of the dials is improved.

Do the controls still function the same?

Yes. The controls still function the same. The backlight is off when the headlights are off, and on when the headlights are on. The only difference is the color of the backlight and an optional brightness increase of the backlight.

What are the drawbacks?

Qube’s LED Dash Controls require light modification to circuit boards of each switch assembly. The modification can be undone with some intermediate soldering skills and mechanical skills. If you don't feel comfortable with a soldering iron or tinkering with electronic assemblies, you may exchange the modified parts for stock parts for $50 + Shipping and Handling.

What is the cost?

Qube's LED Dash Controls are priced per item. The total cost will vary depending on what controls you need. A complete Dash Control system will average about $249.

How do I get them?

Qube's LED Dash Controls are offered exclusively through a core exchange program. Upon payment, a finished set of modified interior control assemblies will be shipped to you for installation. Once you complete the install, you will ship your original unmodified interior control assemblies back to Qube Engineering.

How do I install it?

The total installation process should take between 45 minutes to an hour.

I’m a klutz. Can I do the install myself?

The instructions are very detailed and written very clearly, and the procedure does not require any out of the ordinary tools or skills. If, after reading the instructions, you still feel that you are unable to install the device yourself, your local auto repair shop should be able to do it for you. Just provide them a printout of the instructions.

Is there a waiting list?

Yes. There are 4 core sets in circulation at any given time. Once a core comes back for modification, the next person on the wait list will be notified.

What if something goes wrong?

Although Qube’s LED Backlights have been in a very successful in testing, things are bound to happen.  If the product malfunctions for any reason, aside from physical damage, within 6 months of purchase, it will be immediately taken care of at no cost to you. Simply send it back and it will be either fixed or replaced and returned to you as soon as humanly possible along with a full reimbursement for your shipping costs.
